Fishing Report Sat 2/24/18

Took 3 friends from the Academy store in the Woodlands fishing on Sat. We started out catching catfish under the birds using cut shad in 2-3 ft. of water till the wind picked up  so we decided to fish protected areas. We ending up catching enough crappie for a nice Dinner but didn’t want to disturb them too much during the spawn. We caught enough catfish to fill a 30qt. cooler. All caught in Shallow water/

Black Bass

Black bass are getting into spawn mode and building beds in shallow water. Jigs and soft plastics are preferred baits.

Black blue colors, natural colors and plain white are what is working best right now.

Crappie fishing is in pre-spawn and spawn mode. Bigger groups of crappie will be located in brush piles in 6-10ft. of water close to natural spawning areas. Jigs and Minnows are the best choice of bait to use.

Bream are still caught in deep brush in 18-20ft of water. Meal worms and crickets are working best for bait.

Hybrids are running in big schools on points and ledges from 10-25ft. where you find schools of shad.

Swim baits and slab spoons works best.

Spring break is approaching fast and as you know we will fill our calendar up fast. Book now so you wont be left at the dock.

Lets go fishing
