The weather is getting warmer and that brings the water temperature up. Lake Conroe water temperature is edging up 73 to 80 degrees. The water is fairly clear that is what we need for an exciting fishing season. As the warmer season come upon us so does the recreational activity on the

lake, so practice safety and watch out for others. Large Mouth Bass can be found on beds and close to shore 10 to 15 foot water. They are being caught with soft plastics or jerk bait around docks and shaded areas at high sun. Hybrids are at main lake hump and points where shad can be found at first light, use live shad for best results. White bass have been scarce. Large Crappie are gathering in post spawn areas 5 to 15 feet of water near brush piles, Jigs and minnows are working well. |
High wind makes it tough
to fish these areas Channel Catfish 1 to 5 pounds caught on baited
holes using sour hen scratch or range cubes. Large Blue Cats are
good on jug line and creek channels use cut bait, bream and shad are
preferred. Bream of all sizes are being caught in 6 to 20 feet of
water near structures on mill worms and cut shrimp. Eat sweet meat
of bream right off the bone.
